I signed up for this class at the last minute and even hesitated since I only recently moved back to the area, wasn’t settled yet, and other nutrition studies and work on my plate. Betsy encouraged me to dive in and I’m only so glad she did. I have been interested in raw foods for several years, been reading about it, doing some internal cleansing, and trying my hand at a few new raw dishes.

Even though I am an experienced cook, I felt intimidated by the new methods and chemistry of raw food preparation. Even with all my books and online resources, I’m a kinesthetic learner and really did need hands-on experience to learn. Betsy provided this through live demos, her teachings in the class, and in her internship (which I did). She is very generous and shares so many resources and much information. She also made it all seem easy and approachable.

The Eat to Thrive program opened my eyes to the raw vegan lifestyle. I learned a myriad of recipes that are not only raw and vegan but delicious, quick, and easy. Another component of the course that I loved was the emphasis on the mind-body connection. I’ve found the corroboration between physical and mental energy to be enlightening; simply trying to smile more and be positive has already had an effect on my relationships with myself and my loved ones. The pay-as-you-can aspect of Eat to Thrive makes it extremely accessible and welcoming to all; it’s rare to find such a generous business and woman like Betsy Bragg. I encourage everyone to take this course and learn about the Hippocrates lifestyle!

I joined Eat to Thrive because I was intrigued by what living a raw plant-based lifestyle looks like! Through this experience, I learned an abundance of meditations, mindfulness activities, mouth-watering recipes, and stories shared by participants and guest speakers!  Every week brought something new to the table and I always left the class feeling hopeful and excited to try whatever was shared! Thank you to Betsy, the guest speakers, and everyone else that I was able to share this experience with!

I have been interested in the Eat to Thrive course for a while but it never seemed to be the right time until this summer for a couple of reasons. The affordability of the class, easy access through zoom, and Betsy’s encouragement to take it to “plant a seed” even if it felt like the amount of material seemed daunting, gave me the courage to sign up.

I have pursued wholistic health much of my life. I studied shiatsu, polarity, macrobiotics, Ayurveda, and yoga. All has been a wonderful part of my path. I am also drawn to adventures and easily become unbalanced. Sleep, osteopenia, and borderline blood sugar issues have resulted in weight gain and a few medications I would like to reduce or eliminate.

Idealistically I thought I could follow all the guidance over the 10-week course but realistically I understand that a lifetime of habitual patterns is not likely to disappear so quickly. I still eat foods that are not the most healthful but I am making progress in self-care and have learned so much.

My successes include doing the homework and showing up each week, trying a new raw food recipe weekly (and also sharing it with friends), demonstrating a recipe for my classmates, speaking with my buddy weekly, and increasing my exercise. The presenters have been excellent, personable, caring, and informative.

Betsy’s support and encouragement have helped me to continue to be optimistic about incorporating healthy habits, be gentle with myself, and have a sense of humor on a daily basis. I would recommend this class to anyone who wants to find healthy lifestyle alternatives in a compassionate, non-judgmental environment.

I feel so truly blessed to have been a part of this purely magical Raw Food Program that I feel has impacted my journey in life in so many positive, uplifting ways on my path to connecting deeper to Body, Mind, and Spirit.

Everyone in the group from speakers to classmates has brought so much wisdom, love, and inspiration, rooted in the very same mindset of healing, on so many unique levels.  As a rainbow blends with its neighboring color, I too felt blended with our purely magical cohesive group of lovely souls, because we are all in search of changing for the better on so many levels with no judgment, but unconditional support for each other. Thank- You from the bottom of my heart to you ALL.

Our journey in life is so beautifully conducted when we have this support and ongoing guidance. A huge thank-you to all the speakers that have opened my eyes to dive deeper and build my knowledge to better support and bring alive the pieces of wisdom that I had known, but had not yet implemented in my life. This class encouraged and supported me to make important changes in my daily life and the passion to share it with others in holistic work practice, with friends and family.

My “Golden Nuggets,” as Betsy would call them, were the encouragement and support we had to put into practice our daily habits that have paved a path to a better me.  This included; embracing even more of a raw food diet than I have already, consuming highly nutritional sprouts in my daily diet, growing my own magically healing Wheat Grass, implementing detoxing on so many levels, grounding myself in meditation, and embracing the richness of nature and its deliciousness to the body.

 Connecting and feeling nature’s vibrations flow through me, by just being open to its raw wisdom, as I stand barefoot amongst the dancing trees….remembering that we are ALL connected. May my Body, Mind, and Spirit blossom in the rooted wisdom I choose to nourish it with, woven with the colorful array of possibilities. Peaceful meditations, mindfulness activities, delicious recipes, resources for food preparation, and inspiring personal stories were just a few of my golden nuggets. Every week was such an eye-opening experience thanks to Betsy, guest speakers, and everyone else that shared the 10-week journey with me.
